Their Space.

After creating your adult account, open the email titled Verify your SproutSpace account and choose Verify my account. Check both your inbox and your Junk/Spam folder.

Sign-in stays blocked until email verification is complete. The verification screen shows the account email address and a Resend verification email button if you need another message.

After verification, return to Sign in to set up your children. If the page reports that the email could not be sent, use Resend to try again.

The top of the dashboard summarizes the family plan and the current account. The Family plan section shows the current plan, number of child profiles in use, shared storage use, and the default protected visibility model.

Choose View plans to see the current plan catalog. Paid subscribers may also see Manage billing, which opens the billing controls provided for the subscription.

The Children section contains active child profiles. Archived children appear in a separate expandable area when any exist.

Add a child

Choose Add child and follow the five steps: About your child, Space & login, Look & personality, Activities & permissions, and Review & finish. Use Next and Back to move through setup. Create child & Space finishes everything together.

The All set screen shows the child's saved Space address, username, and password controls. Open that address on the child's device to sign in. Their child card keeps the direct address and a blue Login details link so you can find these details again.

General

Store the child's name, preferred name, birthday, and private parent notes.

Space & login

Optional child login gives the child a username and password that opens only their own Space. It cannot open parent controls or another child's Space.

Space and login controls share one section. It shows the direct Space link, Open Space, and Space Options. Existing children without a Space can create one here.

Avatar

Choose one of the available profile symbols for the child.

Activities

Choose whether each activity is hidden, available, or available with the child's own settings controls. Use Activity Settings for the full activity options.

Archive and restore

Archiving a child keeps their data. Archived profiles move out of the active child list and can be restored later.

Open the child, choose Space & login, then turn on child login. Choose a username and a password with at least 8 characters, including a capital letter and a number. Symbols are optional. Turning child login off blocks child sign-in while preserving the saved username. It does not archive the child or delete their work. During new child setup, the password starts empty for you to choose. When editing an existing child, leaving it empty keeps the current password.

Choose Show to view a saved child password, or use Login details on their child card to view and copy their address, username, and password. You can also replace the password in Space & login.

Older passwords saved before this feature cannot be displayed, but still work. Set a new password once to make it viewable.

Choose who enters the Space

Choose Open Space beside the child’s name. You can Enter as parent to review work with your own account, or enter as the child to use their child controls. The child option is available only when their login is enabled and a password has been set.

Entering as the child switches this browser’s SproutSpace account, including other open tabs. Those tabs update to the child account. You must sign in again to return to the Parent Dashboard; use a separate browser profile if you want to keep an adult session open alongside a child session.

The Space toolbar always shows the signed-in person’s name and role: Parent, Child, Caregiver, or Trusted visitor. Parent review keeps the child’s last adventure unchanged. Links such as See saved rounds open the saved history after you choose who enters.

The Add child wizard creates the Space as part of setup. Choose a Space name and address, write an introduction, select Private or Protected visibility, then choose a starting style and avatar in the next step. For an existing child without a Space, use Space & login.

Name and introduction

Change what appears at the top of the child's Space without changing its permanent address.

Theme and layout

Choose a theme and either Comfortable or Compact page spacing. You can also choose whether the Activities link appears in the main navigation.

Visibility

Private limits the Space to family accounts. Protected allows approved guest keys to enter when guest access is enabled.

Parent approval

When parent approval is required, new people need the parent's decision. A child must also ask before reactivating access in situations where the parent approval rule applies.

Child sharing permission

The parent can choose Parent only, View, Request, or Manage. These levels determine whether the child sees sharing controls and whether they may ask for or pause approved connections.

Guest access

Turning guest access off pauses every guest key for that Space without deleting the keys.

A trusted connection can be created from Space Options or from the Sharing controls inside a Space when the viewer has parent authority. Enter the person's name, relationship, and an optional expiration date, then choose permissions.

• 4-H contributor, which is an elevated permission available when 4-H Projects access is allowed

A 4-H contributor may add and edit the child's saved 4-H projects and records. That permission does not allow deleting projects, changing parent settings, managing keys, or editing other activities.

Gallery access, Gallery comments/reactions, Gallery downloads and Blockiversity are separate permissions too. Grant only the actions intended for the trusted person; viewing does not automatically grant interaction or downloads.

The secure secret

The secure link and QR code are shown when the connection is created or when its secret is replaced. Save or send the new secret at that time. The person receiving it gets only the permissions selected for that connection.

Manage an existing key

Parents can change permissions, pause or resume a connection, rotate the key to replace the old link and QR code, or revoke it. Revocation cannot be undone. A revoked key can later be deleted from the list.

Child requests

If the child's sharing permission allows requests, the child can ask for a connection. Pending requests never open access. The parent chooses whether to approve or reject the request and selects the permissions. Completed decisions remain in request history for accountability.

Open a child from the Parent Dashboard and choose Activities to select what is available. Choose Activity Settings for detailed options, then select an activity from the list to manage it for the child.

Activity Settings can control child access, activity-specific options, and defaults. The parent remains the owner of the Space and all saved activity.

Each activity also has a saved-data area when supported. Clear all activity data removes that activity's saved child data without resetting the entire child Space.

Writing Studio can be turned on or off for the Space. Parents can customize the small heading, title, description, up to 40 practice words or phrases, and the default writing style.

The available writing styles are School Cursive, Elegant Script, Print Practice, and Kindergarten Print. Parents can also decide whether the child may enter custom words and whether the Hear word speech button is available when the browser supports it.

Speech to text through Speak to spell is child facing and depends on browser voice recognition support and microphone permission.

Math Lab can be turned on or off for the Space. The parent can choose addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, along with the smallest and largest numbers used in problems.

Questions per round can be set from 5 through 50. Modes include Practice and Challenge. Question styles include Mixed, Multiple Choice, and Missing Number. Themes include Classic, Dinosaurs, Unicorns, Space, and Farm.

The range selects the numbers used in addition, subtraction and multiplication, including signed numbers and equal limits. For whole-number division, it selects the answer and a nonzero divisor; the number being divided can be larger than the selected range. A zero-only range uses 0 ÷ 1 = 0.

A timed round can use a limit from 30 through 900 seconds. The child chooses Start, can pause or resume, and the timer pauses when leaving the activity or browser tab. A round with no answers does not change progress. After an answer, choose Next to continue; the correction stays visible while the child reads it.

Parents can also control whether the child may print worksheets and whether private Math progress is visible to the family account and permitted trusted viewers.

When child worksheet printing is allowed, the child can choose Print worksheet in Math Lab. The worksheet uses the operations, number range, and question style already selected for the Space.

The worksheet can contain from 1 through 200 questions and defaults to 15. An answer key is optional and begins on a separate page. The preview freezes the selected problem set, and Generate new questions creates a different set before printing.

Creating, previewing, and printing a worksheet does not record progress or change Math Lab history.

The storage card on the Parent Dashboard shows the current family total and remaining space. Stored files and media count toward storage, and some saved activity content such as tracing snapshots also uses storage.

When storage is full, existing work remains safe. New storage consuming content may be blocked until space is freed or the family moves to a plan with more storage.

Choose View plans on the Parent Dashboard to see the current storage and billing options. Standard SproutSpace activities are included with every account. Paid choices primarily increase family storage.

When moving to a plan with more storage, the change can take effect immediately. A change that reduces storage is scheduled so paid access is not reduced in the middle of a paid period. SproutSpace shows the timing before a plan change is confirmed.

Cancellation stops future renewals and paid access continues through the paid period. Full refunds may be requested within five calendar days of a charge. If a full refund is approved, paid access ends immediately. Existing family work remains safe.

If a payment fails, SproutSpace can keep paid access active through a grace period. If the account remains past due after the grace period ends, existing work remains safe but paid plan storage can be paused until billing is corrected.

Archive child

Keeps the child's data and moves the profile out of the active list. It can be restored later.

Reset Space completely

Erases the child's Space content, activity work, progress, uploads, sharing keys, and customized settings. The child profile, child login, permanent IDs, and permanent Space address remain.

Delete child and Space permanently

Removes the child profile, every Space, login credentials, sessions, activity records, uploads, sharing access, and other SproutSpace owned child data. This releases the child slot and reclaims storage.

• Use the Retry button when SproutSpace shows a temporary network or activity error.
• Use Login details on the child's card to check their address and credentials. Use Space & login to enable login or replace the password.
• Check Activity Settings if an activity is hidden or a child control is unavailable.
• Check Space Options if sharing controls or guest access are unavailable.
• Check the trusted connection status, expiration, and permissions if a secure link cannot open expected content.
• Check the Family storage card if a storage consuming save or upload is being refused.

From the Parent Dashboard choose My profile. Update your display name with Save profile. Leave New password empty to keep your password. To change it, enter your current password and meet the adult password requirements shown on this screen.

Under Change email address, enter the new email and current password, then Send verification. Your sign-in email changes only after you confirm the message at the new address. Check Junk or Spam as well as Inbox.

If you forgot your adult password, return to sign in and choose Forgot your password?. Child passwords are managed under the child's Space & login, not here.

Account controls remain hidden until your permissions load. Use Retry loading profile after a loading error.

Owners must transfer ownership to another Parent / Guardian before deleting only their own account, or use Delete family to remove the entire family. For other adults, Delete my SproutSpace account is permanent and removes their login, membership, sessions and adult Blockiversity profile. Family-owned child work stays with the family.

Choose Family members from the dashboard. Owners and Parents / Guardians manage the family. A Caregiver only receives assigned-child access and the permissions you grant; they do not receive general parent settings or billing authority.

1. Enter the adult's name and email.
2. Choose Parent / Guardian or Caregiver.
3. For a Caregiver, select assigned children and permissions. Gallery viewing, comments/reactions, downloads, learning progress, 4-H contribution and Blockiversity are separate permissions.
4. Send email invitation. The adult follows the email link and accepts using their own account credentials. Check Junk or Spam.

Pending invitations show their expiration. Revoke invite cancels an unused invitation. Use Permissions to edit a member's role, assigned children and permissions, then Save changes or Cancel.

In Family members, the Owner can choose Delete family permanently… to review the scope before deciding. The preview counts child profiles, Spaces, uploads, content, activity data and Blockiversity worlds.

Continuing requires the exact displayed confirmation phrase, the current password and the permanent-deletion acknowledgement. Cancel closes the confirmation without deleting.

Open the child's Space and choose My Gallery. Add photos from files or, on supported devices, the camera. Storage is shared across the family. Photo uploads need available storage and appropriate permission.

Use Search photos, Album and Sort photos together. Favorites and Not in an album are built-in views. No photos match this view means filters found nothing; clear the search or choose All photos. Your first photo can grow here appears only when the entire Gallery is empty.

New album creates an album. Names must contain text and cannot duplicate another active album for the child, including differences only in capitalization or extra spaces. Edit an album to rename it or change its description; Cancel keeps its saved details.

Open a photo to edit its title, caption, image description, date, album, tags or Favorite status, then Save details. An image description helps viewers who cannot see the photo. Comments, replies and reactions require interaction permission. Enter some text before posting a comment. Comments containing only blank spaces are not accepted. Download requires download permission.

In Activity Settings → My Gallery, choose child access and separately allow uploads, organizing photos/albums, downloads and interaction. Enable comments and reactions controls the activity; Allow comments and reactions in a photo's Parent controls can disable interaction on just that photo. Trusted viewers need their own Gallery view, interaction and download permissions. Granting view alone does not grant all actions.

Review deletion prompts before removing photos or albums. Clear all My Gallery data is a separate permanent action; it is not the same as hiding the activity.

Open 4-H Projects in the child's Space. Create a project with title, year, project area, club/county, dates and goals. Select a project to see goals, counts, readiness guidance and its record timeline. Edit project and Edit goals update the saved plan.

Add a record for project work, educational experiences, leadership, service, awards or reflections. Enter the actual calendar date and title. Optional fields include quantity/unit, hours, expense, income, people reached, items contributed, photo caption/reminder, what was learned and the child's reflection. Use expense for costs and income for project sales or receipts; neither belongs to account billing. Explicit zero amounts display as $0.00. Leave unused fields blank.

Readiness guidance helps find missing record-book information; it is not an official judging score or qualification guarantee. A photo reminder is not itself a photo upload. Some future activities may link records into this timeline; previews are not currently usable activities.

In Activity Settings → 4-H Projects, control child project creation/editing/archiving and record adding/editing/archiving separately. A trusted 4-H contributor can add or edit projects and records but cannot delete projects, change parent settings or manage sharing keys.

Open Blockiversity from a child's Activities shelf. The lobby shows the selected child, available Family World / personal world choices, the saved time balance, character picker and family storage.

A Family World is shared within this family; a personal world belongs to the child. Parents / Guardians play with unlimited time. An authorized Caregiver also has unlimited adult play time, but cannot manage learning settings. Caregivers need both assigned-child access and the Blockiversity permission.

Activity Settings → Blockiversity controls maximum saved play time (10–240 minutes), Math and Spelling levels (1–5), available challenge subjects, world choices (both, family-only or personal-only) and adventure mode. The lobby's settings button or Game Menu learning controls take authorized parents there. Reset to defaults changes settings; clearing saved data is a different action.

Children start with ten minutes. Each correct challenge answer adds one Blockiversity Credit, worth two minutes, up to their saved-time maximum. Wrong answers do not subtract time. Time is saved between visits. Learning protects the child from Mosslings; running out of time opens learning rather than deleting their world.

In the in-world Blockiversity Settings panel, authorized parents can also change Hide & Seek Mode, Mossling Attacks and Child Teleport. Hide & Seek hides other player map markers and direction/distance locators from children while parents still see everyone. Turning Mossling Attacks off keeps creatures roaming but stops their chasing and damage. Child Teleport controls children's map teleporting; parents retain their own permitted controls. These switches are separate from the child's Activity Settings.

Clear all Blockiversity data removes the selected child's personal worlds/builds, learner profile, credits and challenge progress. Review the displayed scope; a shared family world is different from an individual child's data. Delete family removes family-owned worlds.

Tab and Shift+Tab move among controls. Enter activates a button or submits a form. When a dialog opens, focus stays inside; Escape closes supported dialogs and returns you to the button that opened it. A drawing area still requires a pointer, finger or stylus to trace.

Use Cancel to discard unsaved form changes. Saved activity work remains when you change theme or layout. Wait for Saving… to finish. If a save fails, keep your draft and use the displayed retry or correct the error before leaving.

Reset to defaults changes an activity's settings. Clear all activity data permanently removes saved work for that activity while preserving its settings and access. Reset Space completely and Delete child and Space have broader scopes. Read each confirmation rather than treating these actions as interchangeable.
