Their Space.

The top of the dashboard summarizes the family plan and the current account. The Family plan section shows the current plan, number of child profiles in use, shared storage use, and the default protected visibility model.

Choose View plans to see the current plan catalog. Paid subscribers may also see Manage billing, which opens the billing controls provided for the subscription.

The Children section contains active child profiles. Archived children appear in a separate expandable area when any exist.

General

Store the child's name, preferred name, birthday, and private parent notes.

Login

Optional child login gives the child a username and password that opens only their own Space. It cannot open parent controls or another child's Space.

Site

Create the child's Space, choose its name, permanent address, starting style, introduction, and initial visibility. After the Space exists, this tab provides the direct Space link and buttons for Open Space, Space Options, and Activity Settings.

Choose one of the available profile symbols for the child.

Archive and restore

Archiving a child keeps their data. Archived profiles move out of the active child list and can be restored later.

Open the child, choose Login, then turn on child login. Set a username and a password that meets the requirements shown in the form. When editing an existing child, leaving the password field empty keeps the current password.

If a child forgets the sign in information, the parent can return here and replace it.

From the child's Site tab, enter a Space name and address, choose a starting style, write an introduction, and choose Private or Protected visibility.

Name and introduction

Change what appears at the top of the child's Space without changing its permanent address.

Theme and layout

Choose a theme and either Comfortable or Compact page spacing. You can also choose whether the Activities link appears in the main navigation.

Visibility

Private limits the Space to family accounts. Protected allows approved guest keys to enter when guest access is enabled.

Parent approval

When parent approval is required, new people need the parent's decision. A child must also ask before reactivating access in situations where the parent approval rule applies.

Child sharing permission

The parent can choose Parent only, View, Request, or Manage. These levels determine whether the child sees sharing controls and whether they may ask for or pause approved connections.

Guest access

Turning guest access off pauses every guest key for that Space without deleting the keys.

A trusted connection can be created from Space Options or from the Sharing controls inside a Space when the viewer has parent authority. Enter the person's name, relationship, and an optional expiration date, then choose permissions.

• 4-H contributor, which is an elevated permission available when 4-H Projects access is allowed

A 4-H contributor may add and edit the child's saved 4-H projects and records. That permission does not allow deleting projects, changing parent settings, managing keys, or editing other activities.

The secure secret

The secure link and QR code are shown when the connection is created or when its secret is replaced. Save or send the new secret at that time. The person receiving it gets only the permissions selected for that connection.

Manage an existing key

Parents can change permissions, pause or resume a connection, rotate the key to replace the old link and QR code, or revoke it. Revocation cannot be undone. A revoked key can later be deleted from the list.

Child requests

If the child's sharing permission allows requests, the child can ask for a connection. Pending requests never open access. The parent chooses whether to approve or reject the request and selects the permissions. Completed decisions remain in request history for accountability.

Open a child from the Parent Dashboard, choose the Site tab, then choose Activity Settings. Select an activity from the list to manage it for the child.

Activity Settings can control child access, activity-specific options, and defaults. The parent remains the owner of the Space and all saved activity.

Each activity also has a saved-data area when supported. Clear all activity data removes that activity's saved child data without resetting the entire child Space.

Writing Studio can be turned on or off for the Space. Parents can customize the small heading, title, description, up to 40 practice words or phrases, and the default writing style.

The available writing styles are School Cursive, Elegant Script, Print Practice, and Kindergarten Print. Parents can also decide whether the child may enter custom words and whether the Hear word speech button is available when the browser supports it.

Speech to text through Speak to spell is child facing and depends on browser voice recognition support and microphone permission.

Math Lab can be turned on or off for the Space. The parent can choose addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, along with the smallest and largest numbers used in problems.

Questions per round can be set from 5 through 50. Modes include Practice and Challenge. Question styles include Mixed, Multiple Choice, and Missing Number. Themes include Classic, Dinosaurs, Unicorns, Space, and Farm.

A timed round can use a limit from 30 through 900 seconds. Parents can also control whether the child may print worksheets and whether private Math progress is visible to the family account and permitted trusted viewers.

When child worksheet printing is allowed, the child can choose Print worksheet in Math Lab. The worksheet uses the operations, number range, and question style already selected for the Space.

The worksheet can contain from 1 through 200 questions and defaults to 15. An answer key is optional and begins on a separate page. The preview freezes the selected problem set, and Generate new questions creates a different set before printing.

Creating, previewing, and printing a worksheet does not record progress or change Math Lab history.

The storage card on the Parent Dashboard shows the current family total and remaining space. Stored files and media count toward storage, and some saved activity content such as tracing snapshots also uses storage.

When storage is full, existing work remains safe. New storage consuming content may be blocked until space is freed or the family moves to a plan with more storage.

Choose View plans on the Parent Dashboard to see the current storage and billing options. Standard SproutSpace activities are included with every account. Paid choices primarily increase family storage.

When moving to a plan with more storage, the change can take effect immediately. A change that reduces storage is scheduled so paid access is not reduced in the middle of a paid period. SproutSpace shows the timing before a plan change is confirmed.

Cancellation stops future renewals and paid access continues through the paid period. Full refunds may be requested within five calendar days of a charge. If a full refund is approved, paid access ends immediately. Existing family work remains safe.

If a payment fails, SproutSpace can keep paid access active through a grace period. If the account remains past due after the grace period ends, existing work remains safe but paid plan storage can be paused until billing is corrected.

Archive child

Keeps the child's data and moves the profile out of the active list. It can be restored later.

Reset Space completely

Erases the child's Space content, activity work, progress, uploads, sharing keys, and customized settings. The child profile, child login, permanent IDs, and permanent Space address remain.

Delete child and Space permanently

Removes the child profile, every Space, login credentials, sessions, activity records, uploads, sharing access, and other SproutSpace owned child data. This releases the child slot and reclaims storage.

• Use the Retry button when SproutSpace shows a temporary network or activity error.
• Check the child's Login tab if direct child sign in fails.
• Check Activity Settings if an activity is hidden or a child control is unavailable.
• Check Space Options if sharing controls or guest access are unavailable.
• Check the trusted connection status, expiration, and permissions if a secure link cannot open expected content.
• Check the Family storage card if a storage consuming save or upload is being refused.
