This is your guide to the things you can do inside your SproutSpace. If something needs a parent setting, the guide will tell you.

Using your SproutSpace

🔐How do I open my Space?Your parent can give you a child username and password just for your Space.

Enter the username and password your parent created for you, then choose Open my Space.

If you forget them, ask your parent. Your parent can update your sign in from the Parent Dashboard.

Your child sign in only opens your Space. It does not open parent settings, billing, or another child's Space.
✍️Writing and Tracing StudioChoose words, hear them, speak them, trace them, print them, and watch your practice grow.

Writing Studio lets you choose a practice word or short phrase. Your parent can also allow you to type your own words.

Choose how it looks

You can practice with School Cursive, Elegant Script, Print Practice, or Kindergarten Print when those choices are available to you.

Hear the word

Choose Hear word to have your device read the current word or phrase aloud.

Trace on screen

Choose Trace on screen to practice by tracing on your device. SproutSpace can score the tracing and save practice progress.

Print practice

Choose Print practice page when you want to practice on paper.

🎤Speak to spellSay a word or short phrase instead of typing it.

Choose Speak to spell and allow microphone access if your browser asks. Say one word or a short phrase. SproutSpace can show more than one choice when your browser hears a few possibilities.

The voice tool listens for a short answer. It stops after a few seconds and does not save an audio recording in your SproutSpace.

If the microphone is blocked or your browser does not support voice recognition, you can still type the word.

➗Math LabSolve problems, build a streak, and keep a history of your rounds.

Your parent chooses which kinds of math and number ranges are available. Math Lab can use addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, or a mixture chosen for your Space.

You may see Practice or Challenge mode, different question styles, themes, and sometimes a timer. Answer the problem and choose Check answer.

Choose Say the problem if you want the current problem read aloud.

Your progress area keeps track of your Math rounds when progress is enabled.

🖨️Create a Math worksheetTurn the Math settings you are already using into paper practice.

If your parent allows worksheet printing, choose Print worksheet in Math Lab.

  1. Choose how many questions you want. You can enter from 1 through 200, and 15 is the starting choice.
  2. Choose whether you want an answer key.
  3. Choose Create preview.
  4. Look over the exact questions that will print.
  5. Choose Generate new questions if you want a different set.
  6. Choose Print this worksheet when it looks right.
Printing does not change your Math progress. Worksheets do not add a round, change your score, or change your Math settings.
🍀4-H ProjectsPlan your project and record what really happened while you still remember it.

Start a project with the project title, year, project area, club or county information, dates, notes, and goals that fit your project.

As you work, add records for the things you actually did. A record can include what you did, what you learned, participation, quantity, unit, hours, expense, income, number of people reached, items contributed, a photo caption or reminder, and your own reflection.

Your project page keeps the goals, timeline, records, and record book readiness together so you do not have to rebuild the whole year from memory later.

Use your own words for your reflection. The point is to keep the real project and what you learned, not just make the record look full.
🛡️Sharing and trusted peopleYour parent controls whether you can see, request, or manage any sharing actions.

A trusted person might be a grandparent, teacher, close friend, or 4-H leader. Your parent decides who can enter your Space and what that person is allowed to see.

If your parent allows requests, you can ask for a new trusted connection. Your request does not give anyone access by itself. Your parent must approve or reject it and choose the permissions.

If your parent allows limited management, you may be able to pause an approved connection. Parent rules still decide what happens next.

🌳Who can see my Space?Your Space is protected, and your parent controls trusted access.

Your Space is not something you have to make public just to share it with someone you know. Your parent can create a secure link or QR code for a trusted person and can choose which parts of your Space that person is allowed to open.

If you ever wonder who has access, ask your parent or open Sharing if your parent has allowed you to see connection status.

🧰Something is not workingTry the easy things, then ask your parent when a setting or account change is needed.
  • If an activity says it is resting, choose Retry.
  • If voice entry does not work, check that the browser has microphone permission.
  • If an activity or worksheet button is missing, your parent may need to check Activity Settings.
  • If you forgot your username or password, ask your parent to update it.
  • If a trusted person cannot open something, ask your parent to check that connection's permissions.

Need a parent?

Some things are supposed to require parent help.

Passwords, activity permissions, sharing permissions, storage, billing, and family settings belong to the adult account.
